Bailgate Yoga Club

A class for all bodies and all experience levels. Beginners are welcome to come and try out alongside seasoned yogis, this Saturday morning slow flow Vinyasa class guides you through a gently warming practice to wake you up and set you up for the day. This is not a vigorous class, alignment is taught, so too are the principles of the breath and meditation. Equipment provided if you do not have your own yet. Booking is essential at this popular, friendly community class.

Located in the main hall behind Bailgate Methodist Church, this central location for uphill residents and visitors alike attracts a decent sized group. This class is informal in many senses, with many class members meeting old and new friends here. The main aim of these classes is to bring to each participant that connection between mind and body- to get us out of our busy minds and into our physical bodies. We do this throughout the whole hour, the practice is grounding, and many find the class soothing and relaxing. On a purely physical level, (and like most yoga classes) this class aims to increase the flexibility and suppleness in joints and soft tissue, improve breathing, relieve physical and mental tension, increase strength in muscles and our overall body structure and improve balance & coordination.

The class is fully guided with most of the postures being demonstrated at the front by the teacher. Adjustments can be given (with you permission) to show you how to get the correct alignment for your body.
